Paul’s Music

For the past 20 years or so in Tucson Paul maintained an active performance schedule – both solo (as Paul Charles) and as a member of 3 different acoustic bands: French Quarter, Southern Arizona Railroad and Cypress Grove. Most of the personnel in those 3 bands remained the same, but the focus, style and repertoire differed among the three. The last of those groups was Cypress Grove, a band that played American traditional and old-timey music, and was active up until Paul moved to Florida. All 3 bands were very active in the Arizona acoustic music scene and were regular performers at the Tucson, Prescott and Flagstaff Folk Festivals. In addition, Paul would frequently invite musical friends and bandmates to appear with him at his monthly Tucson Hop Shop beer garden shows.

Paul maintained a website dedicated to his solo work, and separate websites were also used that were dedicated to each of the three groups. Those websites were shut down when Paul left Tucson. Paul also maintained a Bandcamp site where he published his own recordings. That site is still active.
